How to use the Tool

End-to-end guide for Tool, Remote Tool, session attach flow, Agent status and FlashXtool VPN relay.

Use this when your own laptop is connected directly to the car.
Open FlashXtool Agent and login with email and Token.
Run Read Unit to auto-populate VIN, serial, type, IP, map and RAM.
Use operation buttons for targeted reads: VIN, serial, files, FSC, map, unit IP.
Results data are stored into Car History

Use session code from customer VPN tool (FXT6-...).
Click Connect manually after pasting the code.
Green bridge means cloud relay is available.
If bridge is online but no car: customer must connect ENET/ignition and start session.

Remote Tool Usage : Session Flow (Customer Laptop -> Cloud -> You)

Connect ENET cable, ignition ON, then open FlashXtool VPN on customer laptop.

Press Start Session, confirm cloud and car link become online.

Customer sends the generated code (FXT6-...) to you.

Paste session code in Remote Tool , then press Connect, then run Read Unit actions.

Detailed Workflows

Local mode

1. Prepare local connection

Connect ENET cable to your laptop, set ignition ON, keep NIC on automatic IP, then open Tool.

2. Detect and read baseline

Click Read Unit. This runs VIN + CPS VIN + serial + unit type + IP + version + map + files + FSC pipeline and fills all key fields.

3. Run targeted actions

Use specific buttons when needed: Read VIN, Read Serial, Read FSC, Read Unit Files, Read Unit Map, Read IP.

4. Attach to user session (admin)

Admin can attach to a user scope and run Tool on behalf of that user. Actions still update the shared VIN snapshot and history for traceability.

Every successful read updates VIN snapshot cache and is available in Car History/Reports for fast reuse.

Relay mode

1. Receive valid session code

Customer runs FlashXtool VPN and shares active code (FXT6-...). Paste code and click Connect manually.

2. Confirm connection states

Green bridge means cloud relay is reachable. If bridge is online but no car link, customer must reconnect ENET/ignition and press Start Session.

3. Command lifecycle

Remote Tool sends command to cloud, customer VPN polls and executes locally on 169.254.x.x network, then result returns and fields populate.

4. If action is stuck

Check session still started on customer side, cloud status not offline, and car link stays connected. Then retry action from Remote Tool.

Use the console logs (operator + customer) to follow queued/running/done command states and packet-level outcomes.

Quick Troubleshooting

Problem	Action
Session code invalid	Use exact `FXT6-...` code from customer VPN tool and retry Connect.
Bridge online, no car detected	Customer checks ENET cable, ignition ON, NIC on automatic IP, then re-starts session.
Read actions keep spinning	Verify session still active on customer side and that cloud + car link remain green.
Agent shown offline	Open agent app, confirm email/token login, then wait heartbeat update.
